BBR lands S$363M contract for Singapore MRT station

BBR Holdings said Wednesday it was awarded a S$363 million civil contract from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) for the design and construction of Pasir Ris East station. 

The station is under the first phase of the Cross Island Line (CRL1), which is the city-state’s eighth MRT line, the company said in a filing to SGX. 

The contract was awarded to a joint venture of Singapore Engineering & Construction and Sinohydro Corp.’s Singapore branch, the filing said. 

Singapore Engineering & Construction, a wholly owned subsidiary of BBR, has participated in projects including the construction of Tai Seng Facility Building, which serves the MRT’s Downtown Line, and the widening of the Keppel Viaduct, the filing said..

The Cross Island Line will link Singapore’s eastern, north-eastern and western corridors, touching major hubs including the Jurong Lake District, the Punggol Digital District and the Changi area. The 29-kilometer long line will have 12 stations serving Loyang, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Defu, Hougang, Serangoon North and Ang Mo Kio.
