Singapore company briefs: G.H.Y Culture & Media Holding and CDW Holding.
CDW Holding guided Tuesday it expected to report an operating profit for the second half and full-year 2021 on business expansion with existing customers and a new contract win for its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) business in the second half. Orders from major customers in the OEM business “recovered significantly,” the company said in a filing to SGX.
“Despite the twin impacts of Covid-19 and the global shortage in semiconductors chips in automobile industry, the recovery in LCD BLU segment has improved the operating results for 2H2021 as compared with the result of the corresponding period in the last year,” the company said.
In a separate statement, CDW said its LCD Backlight business segment, which produces units for mobile phones, has seen a business shift toward larger-sized automobile digital instrument panels and high-end personal computers.
G.H.Y Culture & Media Holding
G.H.Y Culture & Media Holding said Monday it recently discovered unauthorized use of its name and logo, including through an application platform, related to alleged suspected efforts to conduct fraudulent transactions to lure investors for supposed drama and film productions.
“The group does not solicit for investments from shareholders or the general public, and that the group has not released or authorised the release of any application platform for such purposes or carried out any form of investment offer or financing for the group’s drama and film productions through any mobile application or other application platforms,” the company said in a filing to SGX.
