Singapore companies announcing executive changes: Sheng Siong Group, Golden Energy and Resources (GEAR), AEM Holdings, Far East Orchard, Singapore Land Group, Willas-Array Electronics (Holdings) and Asiamedic.

Sheng Siong Group

Sheng Siong Group said Friday Tan Bee Loo, age 61, had retired as the director/head of the fruits and vegetables division, effective 31 December. She had been appointed to the role in 2007, the supermarket operator said in a filing to SGX.

Tan, who is married to Executive Director Lim Hock Eng, has been overseeing the purchasing, pricing and quality control aspects of the fruits and vegetables to be sold in Sheng Siong’s stores, as well as the direct importation of produce from international suppliers, the filing said.

She is deemed to be interested in the 137.4 million shares held by Lim, the filing said.

UOB

UOB said Friday that Alexander Charles Hungate, age 55, would cease to be a director, effective 31 December, as he will be the chief operating officer of Grab Holdings in January.

The board agreed with Hungate’s resignation to address any potential conflicts of interest, UOB said in a filing to SGX.

Hungate, who holds 9,000 UOB shares, was appointed to the position in 2017, the filing said.

UOB has appointed Teo Lay Lim, age 58, as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 January.

Teo, who has a deemed interest in 1, 263 UOB shares, was chairman of Accenture Singapore from September 2020 to August 2021, and CEO of Accenture Southeast Asia from 2011 to August 2020, the filing said.

Golden Energy and Resources (GEAR)

Golden Energy and Resources (GEAR) said Friday it has appointed Noormaya Muchlis, age 42, as non-executive independent director, effective 17 December.

She is the co-founder and executive director of Women in Mining & Energy (WiME) Indonesia and the CEO of Kitong Bisa Consultant, as well as being an environmental and biodiversity specialist for several mining companies in Indonesia, GEAR said in a filing to SGX.

AEM Holdings

AEM Holdings said Friday Chan Basil, and Chan Pengee Adrian, who have both been on the board for more than nine years, have indicated they plan to step down as independent directors at year-end for board renewal purposes.

Far East Orchard

Far East Orchard said Friday Ku Xian Hong, age 62, and Samuel Gene Rhee, age 49, would be appointed independent non-executive directors to progressively renew the board and enhance its diversity, effective 1 January.

Rhee has been chairman and chief investment officer at Endow.us and Endow Holdings since February 2018, the company has previously said.

Ku was managing director at Accenture Pte. Ltd. from 2000 to 2013, and she is currently an independent director at Netlink NBN Management, the manager of Netlink NBN Trust, the company has previously said.

Ee Choo Lin Diana would be re-designated as a non-independent director and a member of the remuneration committee, the company said in a filing to SGX.

Singapore Land Group

Singapore Land Group said Friday Hwang Soo Jin, age 85, would resign as non-executive independent director, effective 31 December, to support the board’s plan to refresh its composition.

Hwang was appointed to his role in 2003, the company said in a filing to SGX.

Ng Shin Ein, age 47, has been appointed as non-executive independent director, effective 1 January, Singapore Land said. Her professional qualification is as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore, the company said.

Ng is currently a director at Starhub, Grab Holdings, Avarga, CSE Global and Singapore International Foundation, Singapore Land said.

Willas-Array Electronics (Holdings)

Willas-Array Electronics (Holdings) said Friday it had appointed Lim Lee Meng, age 65, as lead independent director, effective 1 January. Lim is currently an independent non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee, the company said in a filing to SGX.

Wong Kwan Seng Robert, age 64, has resigned as independent non-executive director, effective 31 December, to devote more time to his personal affairs and in the interests of orderly succession for the board, the company said. He was appointed to his role in 2001, the filing said.

Asiamedic

Asiamedic said Friday Joelle Lee Siew Hong, age 50, would cease to be a non-executive director, effective 31 December. She was appinted to the role on 29 April 2021, Asiamedic said.

Lee is the Singapore CEO of Luye Medical Group, which is Asiamedic’s controlling shareholder, and she will be resigning from that role on 27 December, and will also resign as a director of Asiamedic, the company said in a filing to SGX.
