SG buybacks Friday: Sembcorp buys 400,000 shares; Jardine Matheson, OCBC, UOB, Hour Glass, Raffles Medical

Singapore companies announcing share buybacks on Friday, 10 December 2021: Jardine Matheson Holdings, Sembcorp Industries UOB, The Hour Glass, Pan-United Corp., OUE Ltd., OCBC, Raffles Medical Group and Broadway Industrial Group.

Sembcorp Industries

Sembcorp Industries bought back 400,000 shares in the market at S$2.003 each for a total consideration, including other costs, of around S$802,164, the infrastructure and energy company said in a filing to SGX after the market close.

Jardine Matheson Holdings

Jardine Matheson Holdings bought back 477,587 shares in the market at US$55.74 to US$56.86 each, the company said in a filing to SGX after the market close. The repurchased shares will be cancelled, the filing said.

A back-of-the-envelope calculation suggests the buyback was valued at as much as US$27.16 million.

Jardine Matheson is a holding company operating mainly in China and Southeast Asia, with businesses including motor vehicles, property investment and development, luxury hotels, food retailing, heavy equipment and agribusiness. Jardine Strategic owns around 50.4 percent of Hongkong Land and around 59.2 percent of Jardine Matheson.

OCBC

OCBC bought back 200,000 shares in the market at S$11.32 each for a total consideration, including other costs, of around S$2.27 million, the bank said in a filing to SGX after the market close.

UOB

UOB bought back 72,750 shares in the market at S$26.69 to S$26.84 each for a total consideration, including other costs, of around S$1.95 million, the bank said in a filing to SGX after the market close.

The Hour Glass

The Hour Glass bought back 822,700 shares in the market at S$1.99983 each for a total consideration, including other costs, of around S$1.65 million, the watch retailer said in a filing to SGX after the market close.

OUE

OUE bought back 42,100 shares in the market at S$1.33 each for a total consideration, including other costs, of around S$56,077, the property developer said in a filing to SGX after the market close.

Raffles Medical Group

Raffles Medical Group bought back 50,000 shares in the market at S$1.32 each for total consideration, including other costs, of around S$66,099, the hospital operator said in a filing to SGX after the market close.

Pan-United Corp.

Pan-United Corp. bought back 300,000 shares in the market at S$0.312 each for a total consideration, including other costs, of around S$94,026, the concrete maker said in a filing to SGX after the market close.

Broadway Industrial Group

Broadway Industrial Group bought back 551,600 shares in the market at S$0.22 each for a total consideration, including other costs, of around S$121,729, the company said in a filing to SGX after the market close.

Broadway Industrial manufactures precision-machined components, including actuator arms and other parts for the hard disk drive (HDD) industry. The company has four manufacturing facilities across China and Thailand.
