Singapore companies announcing executive changes: Sembcorp Marine (SembMarine), UOL Group, Vallianz Holdings, Interra Resources, Sinostar PEC Holdings and Tricklestar
Sembcorp Marine (SembMarine) said Wednesday it has appointed Yap Chee Keong, age 61, as independent director, deputy chairman and an executive committee member, effective Wednesday.
From 2013 to 2014, Yap was executive director of The Straits Trading Co., and from 2002 to 2009, he was the chief financial officer of Singapore Power, SembMarine said in a filing to SGX. He also currently sits on the board of Sembcorp Industries, the filing said.
He owns 897,485 shares of SembMarine, the filing said.
UOL Group said Wednesday Low Weng Keong, age 69, will retire as a director, effective 1 January 2022, to pursue his personal work commitments and to facilitate board renewal. Low was appointed to his position in 2005, the filing said.
Vallianz Holdings said Wednesday AlTurki Abdulaziz Ali A, age 76, would resign as non-executive director and chairman, effective Wednesday, to spend more time on charitable orgainsations and initiatives. Sheikh AlTurki, who was appointed to the role in 2018, is the chairman of Rawabi Holding Co., the controlling shareholder of Vallianz, the company said in a filing to SGX.
In his place, Osman Aly Ibrahim Hassanein, age 59, the group president and CEO of Rawabi Holding Co., would be appointed as non-executive director and chairman, the filing said. Osman Ibrahim joined Rawabi Holding Co. in 1989, and has been in his currentroles since 2009, the filing said.
Interra Resources said Monday Zhang Jing, age 39, would be appointed as non-executive director, effective Monday.
Zhang Jing has been the director and general manager of China Zhenhua Oil Trading (Singapore) from 2016 to the present, Interra Resources said in a filing to SGX.
Sinostar PEC Holdings
Sinostar PEC Holdings said Wednesday it would appoint Liu Xiaoyan, age 52, as independent director, effective Thursday.
Liu is currently the general manager of Lance Capital, and from 2019 to 2021, he was a consultant at Morgan Stanley Bank Asia, the company said in a filing to SGX.
Tricklestar Ltd. said Wednesday it was re-designating Gunananthan Nithyanantham, age 53, as executive director and chief operating officer, from non-executive non-independent director previously, effective 1 January 2022.
From January 2012 to December 2017, Gunananthan Nithyanantham was finance director of Tricklestar HK, and in January 2015, he became an executive director of both Zernet Ltd., which is an associate of Tricklestar’s controlling shareholder, and CircleBright, which is the controlling shareholder, the filing said. In 2018, he became CEO of both Zernet and CircleBright, the filing said.
Gunananthan Nithyanantham has a direct interest in 4.64 million Tricklestar shares and a deemed interest in 23.42 million shares, the filing said.
