Singapore executive moves Thursday: ST Engineering, Ho Bee Land, Thomson Medical, Fu Yu, Hiap Hoe

These are Singapore companies which announced personnel changes on Thursday, 30 September 2021: Thomson Medical Group, ST Engineering, Ho Bee Land, Sim Leisure, Fu Yu Corp., Hiap Hoe, Green Build Technology and Shen Yao Holdings.

ST Engineering

ST Engineering said Thursday Kevin Kwok Khien, age 65, was appointed independent non-executive director and a member of the audit committee.

Colonel Xu Youfeng, age 38, has resigned as alternate director to Lieutenant General Ong Su Kiat Melvin as part of the rotational change of duties for Mindef Officers, ST Engineering said in a filing to SGX. Colonel Cai Dexian, age 37, has been appointed as the alternate director to Lieutenant General Ong, ST Engineering said.

Ho Bee Land

Ho Bee Land said Thursday it appointed Lim Swee Say, age 66, as non-executive independent director, effective 1 October. Lim will be a member of the audit & risk and nominating committees, the company said in a filing to SGX.

Lim was a member of Parliament from 1997 to 2020, and was the minister for the Ministry of Manpower from 2015-2018, the filing said.

Sim Leisure

Sim Leisure said Thursday Ng Jia Wei, age 42, has been appointed as a key executive officer. Ng was employed in June as the financial controller and the company’s board has determined he has the experience and capabilities to be a key executive officer, Sim Leisure said in a filing to SGX.

Fu Yu Corp.

Fu Yu Corp. said Thursday it appointed Huang Junli Christopher as independent non-executive chairman of the board, effective 4 October. Huang will be chairman of the remuneration committee, and a member of the audit and nominating committees, the company said in a filing to SGX.

The company also appointed Poh Kai Ren Daniel, age 34, as independent non-executive director, effective 4 October. Poh will also be chairman of the audit committee and a member of the nominating and remuneration committees, the company said.

Thomson Medical Group

Thomson Medical Group said Thursday Heng Kim Chuan Freddie, age 68, will cease to be non-executive director, effective 22 October, as he is not seeking re-election at the upcoming annual general meeting and will retire.

Hiap Hoe

Hiap Hoe said Thursday Chan Boon Hui, age 53, would be re-designated to non-executive director from lead independent director, effective Friday.

Chan will remain a member of the audit and risk committee, but will cease to be chairman, the company said in a filing to SGX. Koh Kok Heng Leslie will be appointed chairman of the audit and risk committee the filing said.

Green Build Technology

Green Build Technology said Thursday Zhao Lizhi, age 54, has resigned as executive director and chairman, effective Thursday, as his health has been deteriorating and he was advised by his doctor to take a six-month leave of absence.

“Due to his deteriorating health, Mr. Zhao is of the view that it would be better for him to step down as the executive director and chairman of the company in the interim,” Green Build Technology said in a filing to SGX. The company noted Zhao still has provided an undertaking to continue providing the company financial support.

Shen Yao Holdings

Shen Yao Holdings said Thursday it appointed Wang Yong, age 50, as chief operating officer, effective Friday. Wang is currently the general manager (Balmaine) and will continue to hold this position, the company said in a filing to SGX.
