Singapore Post has tapped Vincent Phang Heng Wee as group CEO and as non-independent executive director, effective 1 September, taking over from Paul Coutts, who will step down on 31 August, the logistics, postage and property company said in a filing to SGX Friday.
Phang is currently SingPost’s CEO for postal services and Singapore, and has more than 20 years of experience in the supply chain, logistics, industrial and manufacturing industries in Asia, including both Singapore and Australia, SingPost said.
Previously, Phang was group CEO of ST Logistics and executive vice president of Toll Global Logistics Singapore.
“Since joining SingPost in April 2019, he has repositioned SingPost’s postal business by transforming the postal landscape of Singapore, significantly improving the service quality of both postal and last-mile delivery operations. Mr Phang also spearheaded the Future of Post vision to reinvent Singapore’s postal delivery infrastructure to address growing eCommerce demand,” the statement said.
Simon Israel, chairman of SingPost’s board, said Phang has shown “exemplary leadership” during the pandemic, ensuring continuity in postal services and in driving the eCommerce logistics plan.
