JUMBO Group opened its fourth NG AH SIO bak kut teh outlet in Taiwan’s Taoyuan City, bringing the total number of outlets in Asia to eight, the Singapore food and beverage group said in a filing to SGX Thursday.

“Being one of Singapore’s pioneer Bak Kut Teh brands, we are pleased to know that NG AH SIO Bak Kut Teh is well-received by our Taiwanese customers. In just over 15 months, we have opened four outlets across Taipei, Hsinchu, and now, Taoyuan,” Ang Kiam Meng, CEO and executive director of JUMBO, said in the statement.

“The latest opening bears testament to the success of our expansion strategy through local partnerships in the F&B scene,” Ang added.

Bak kut teh is an herbal pork-rib soup.

The outlet, which will operate in a food hall within the Metro Walk Shopping Center, was opened via franchisee, Ho Sing Food, the filing said.

The other four outlets of the bak kut teh brand are located in Singapore, the filing said.
