BreadTalk tapped the Food Atrium division’s CEO Jenson Ong Chin Hock to become deputy CEO of the group, effective Tuesday, the bun maker said in a filing to SGX after the market close Monday.
Ong will assist the CEO with overall management, including setting strategy, while maintaining his role with the Food Atrium division, the filing said.
He became CEO of the Food Atrium division in 2011, and was the managing director of Food Republic Hong Kong from 2005-2010, the filing said.
In addition, the restaurant division’s CEO Cheng William was promoted to also take on the role of chief operating officer of the group, effective Tuesday, BreadTalk said.
Cheng will develop and manage the group’s overall operations, the filing said.
Chan Ying Jian, who has been the group chief financial officer since 2015, was promoted to also take on the role of group chief investment officer, effective Tuesday, BreadTalk said.
“Mr. Chan is responsible for charting the growth of the group through identification of merger/acquisition opportunities, and the effective management of the group’s investments,” BreadTalk said. “The group CIO role would be complementary to Mr. Chan’s concurrent role as the group CFO in the planning and execution of the group’s corporate strategies.”
