The Capital Group Cos. ceased to be a substantial shareholder of Thai Beverage, with its deemed interest falling to 4.949 percent, under the 5 percent threshold, CGC said in a filing to SGX Tuesday.
The deemed interest fell from 5.04 percent after the disposal of 22.69 million shares at S$0.90 a share, the filing said.
CGC is the parent company of Capital Research and Management Co. and Capital Bank & Trust Co.
CB&T is a U.S.-based investment management company that advises institutional investors. CRMC is also a U.S.-based investment management company, and manages the American Funds family of mutual funds.
CGC and its affiliates don’t own Thai Beverage shares for their own accounts, the filing said, adding the shares are owned by accounts under the discretionary investment management of at least one of its investment management companies.
