Soilbuild Construction CEO Ding resigns after five months

Singapore 50 dollar bill

Soilbuild Construction said CEO Ding Yen Shee Daniel has resigned, effective Friday, to pursue personal interests after only five months in the position.

“The nominating committee and the board of directors are not aware of any other material reasons for the cessation of Mr. Ding as the chief executive officer of the company,” Soilbuild said in a filing to SGX Friday.

Ding, age 42, was appointed CEO on 5 April of this year.

After reviewing Ding’s reason for the resignation, the nominating committee and the board accepted the resignation with a mutually agreed abridged notice period, the filing said.

Lim Chap Huat, the executive chairman responsible for strategic direction and business planning and development, was tapped as acting CEO to run day-to-day operations and implement strategy, Soilbuild said.

The nominating committee and board will continue to review the succession plan for the CEO role, the filing said.
