Vividthree enters deal to develop Doraemon virtual reality show

Singapore one dollar bill

Vividthree said Tuesday it entered a memorandum of understanding with Hong Kong-based Animation International to develop the Doraemon Experience (DE), a show combining virtual reality ad augmented reality.

Doraemon is a popular Japanese manga series, which has been adapted into an anime series and media franchise, Vividthree said.

The DE show is expected to be available in Singapore within the next 12 months, followed by launches in other parts of Asia, Vividthree said in a filing to SGX.

“Doraemon is one of the most iconic characters around the world, and we are exhilarated to have this novel addition – Doraemon (Japan) to our immersive experience titles. This is in line with our long-term strategy to strengthen our content production segment,” Jed Mok, CEO of Vividthree, said in the statement.

Vividthree is a virtual reality, visual effects and computer-generated imagery studio that develops digital intellectual property assets, including thematic tour shows.
