Jardine Cycle & Carriage said Wednesday Alex Newbigging will step down as group managing director, effective 30 September, after more than seven years to become CEO of Jardine International Motors (JIM), based in Hong Kong.
JIM is a management company established in May to provided unified strategy for the Jardine companies’ automotive interests in Greater China and Southeast Asia, Jardine C&C said in a filing to SGX.
Newbigging will also assume responsibility for Jardine Strategic’s investment in Zhongsheng Group, a China-based automotive dealership group, the filing said.
Benjamin Birks will take over the role of group managing director for Jardine C&C, effective 1 October, the filing said.
Birks was previously the CEO of Zung Fu and JIM, as well as Jardine Pacific and IKEA Hong Kong, the filing said.
