China Everbright Water obtained the Shandong Ji’nan East Station Area Underground Waste Water Treatment Project, which will require an investment of around 560 million yuan (around S$113.10 million), the company said Tuesday.
Under the agreement with Urban-Rural Water Bureau of Ji’nan City in Shandong Province, the Ji’nan East Station Project will be on a build-operate-transfer model, with a 30-year concession, China Everbright said in a filing to SGX.
The project, which will be built as an underground plant, will have waste-water treatment capacity of 100,000 cubic meters daily and will be responsible for the Ji’nan East Station area, the filing said.
An Xuesong, executive director and CEO of Everbright Water, said Ji’nan City and Shandong province were key markets for the company, which has invested in more than 50 projects there.
“Ji’nan East Station Project will be one of the major infrastructures that facilitate the urban spatial development and ecological and environmental protection in the Ji’nan East Station area and the eastern area of the city,” An said in the statement.
“Securing the project will further solidify Everbright Water’s leading position in the environmental protection market of Ji’nan City and Shandong Province,” he added.
