Iconic Singapore chili crab restaurateur JUMBO Group said on Thursday it opened a new JUMBO Seafood outlet at the new Jewel Changi Airport mega-mall, marking its sixth outlet in Singapore and its 17th in Asia.
While JUMBO Seafood outlets typically feature a Chinese family style menu, JUMBO said the Jewel Changi Airport outlet will include food portions suitable for smaller groups and individual travelers passing through the airport.
Jewel Changi Airport, which includes the world’s largest indoor waterfall and a five-storey-tall “forest valley” including around 3,000 trees, is targeted in part at transit passengers with five-hour or longer layovers at Singapore’s Changi Airport.
In addition, the company launched two new dining brands on Thursday, Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine and Chao Ting at Singapore’s Far East Square, JUMBO said in a filing to SGX after the market close on Thursday.
That’s in addition to JUMBO’s existing Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine brand, which also focuses on Teochew food, it said.
Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine is located in a two-storey heritage building, occupying 9,000 square feet, including six private rooms equipped with KTV facilities, JUMBO said.
Chao Ting, located adjacent to the Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine outlet, is a fast-casual outlet specializing in Teochew “pao fan,” JUMBO said.
“With Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine and Chao Ting, we are excited to continue being able to play a role in promoting the Teochew heritage and culture,” Ang Kiam Meng, CEO and executive director of JUMBO, said in the statement.
