ST Engineering said on Monday it obtained a 10-year contract valued at around S$813 million, or US$600 million, to provide heavy maintenance services to a major North American operator, which is an existing customer.

The operator has a fleet of more than 160 widebody and narrowbody aircraft, it said in a filing to SGX on Monday.

“Under the long-term strategic alliance, ST Engineering is able to offer a fleet reliability program that monitors the health of each aircraft and recommend maintenance actions to address identified issues before they impact the airline’s operational reliability,” the company said. “Continuous improvement initiatives over the duration of the program will also help drive greater efficiency and shorter turnaround times during maintenance.”

The contract starts in 2020, and the services will be provided at ST Engineering’s facilities in the U.S., in Texas and Florida, it said.
