Malaysia-based auto dealership operator MeGroup said on Friday that it received a letter of award from the official distributor of Peugeot brand vehicles in Malaysia, Nasim Sdn. Bhd., to operate a third Peugeot dealership there.
The dealership will be a 3S level, based in Setia Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, it said in a filing to SGX on Friday. A 3S dealership offers the sale of new autos, after-sales services and sells auto parts and accessories.
It is expected to begin operations on 2 January, it said.
Wong Cheong Chee, executive chairman and CEO of MeGroup, said the new dealership would help the company expand the contribution from the Peugeot brand.
“Beyond having a good relationship with our principals, the expansion in our dealership business is based on our ability to meet their stringent standards in terms of the quality of our services,” Wong said. “Our plans to steadily expand our dealership business are underway.”
MeGroup owns and operates several 3S and 4S automobile dealerships to sell new vehicles in Malaysia under the Honda, Mazda and Peugeot brands. A 4S dealership offers the 3S services and has additional services for auto body paintwork and collision repair, it said.
The company also manufactures noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) components and non-NVH components, mainly for the auto industry in Malaysia.
