China yuan coins

China Everbright Water said on Friday that it obtained the Jiangsu Xuzhou Yanqun Household Waste Landfill Leachate Treatment Project, which requires an investment of around 51.46 million yuan.

The project will be constructed on a build-operate-transfer model, with the company responsible for designing, constructing, commissioning and operating a leachate treatment system with a daily treatment capacity of 600 cubic meters, it said in a filing to SGX after the market close on Friday.

An Xuesong, executive director and CEO of China Everbright Water, said the project was the company’s first leachate treatment service project and that it would property process leachate from the Yanqun Waste Landfill site.

“This is of great importance for the Company in expanding new business and strengthening cooperation between the company and Xuzhou City in the environmental water sector,” An said in the statement. “The project will also effectively reduce potential environmental risks incurred from leachate leakage.”
