SATS said on Monday that its subsidiary, SATS China, entered a deal with Tianjin Wuqing Hexiwu Town Government over building and operating a central kitchen in Hexiwu Town Food Zone.

Under the agreement, SATS China will incorporate a subsidiary in Tianjin with registered capital of 120 million yuan to build and operate the kitchen on around 20,000 square meters of land, it said in a filing to SGX after the market close on Monday.

The town government will assist SATS China with regulatory documentation for the project, it said, adding that if the construction permits are granted, SATS will need to complete the facility within two years.

Alex Hungate, president and CEO of SATS, said, “This is in line with SATS’ vision to build a network of central kitchens in China to serve our customers in the fast casual restaurant and aviation industries.”
