China Everbright Water said on Monday that it signed agreements with Laiyang Economic Development Zone Management Committee for the Laiyang Economic Development Zone Water Environment Management Public-Private Partnership Project, or Laiyang PPP project, for a total investment of around 484 million yuan.
The project comprises two sub-projects, Laiyang Water Environment Management sub-project and Laiyang Waste Water Treatment sub-project, with investments of 371 million yuan and 113 million yuan respectively, the filing to SGX on Monday said.
The Laiyang PPP project will be based on a build-operate-transfer, or BOT, model via a joint venture 90 percent-held by Everbright Water, with the remainder held by an entity designated by the City of Laiyang government as its investment representative, the filing said. The concession period will be 20 years, it said.
The waste-water treatment sub-project includes constructing and operating a waste-water-treatment plant in Laiyang City, it said.
The water environment management sub-project includes treatment of the Qixing River and its tributaries, involving water-quality improvement and usable water replenishment, the construction of around 13 kilometers of pipeline network and the construction of 10 kilometers of “sponge-type” roads, it said.
