Creative Technology said on Monday that it launched the Creative SXFI AMP headphone amplifier dongle for Android users, which uses its Super X-Fi technology for 3D sound.
The dongle uses an amplifier which provides maximum audio fidelity and can be used with studio-grade headphones, it said. It will be launched in Singapore first via its website, with worldwide delivery to start in November, Creative said.
The SXFI AIR Super X-Fi bluetooth headphones, designed for iOS users, available next quarter, Creative added in the filing to SGX on Monday before the market open.
It added that a free standalone version of the SXFI app will be available soon, but would initially be offered on an invitation-only basis, with SXFI AMP owners able to invite others, including iOS users, to use the app.
Sim Wong Hoo, CEO of Creative, was effusive on the new audio technology.
“Since its preview at CES Las Vegas in January this year, Super X-Fi has consistently blown the minds of reviewers with the way it has transformed the listening experience on headphones. Audio pundits have described it as ‘frigging mind-blowing,’ ‘magical,’ ‘nothing
short of amazing’ and that ‘it sounded glorious,'” Sim said in the statement.
“Super X-Fi will let you feel as if you were listening to audio coming from the outside world naturally,” Sim added.
