U.S. crude oil prices rose slightly ahead of Asian trade on Friday with weekly data on oil drilling in the United States ahead.
NYMEX West Texas Intermediate rose 0.12 percent to US$67.91 a barrel. On Thursday, ICE Brent crude oil futures settled down 0.07 percent at US$74.73 a barrel, while WTI eased 0.04 percent to US$67.83 a barrel.
The Baker Hughes rig count held steady last week at 869. The figures are due at 1:00 p.m. U.S. EDT.
